  • Where a field is left empty, the database will search that field for any term, (i.e. to search all places, leave the Location field empty)
  • Free text fields have wildcards included, so searching the Location field for 'haven' will return all matches for Newhaven and Cuckmere Haven.
  • If a search for a precise grid reference (e.g. TV 52106 97830) returns no matches, then try searching for a grid square (e.g. TV 52 97) instead.
  • If the database returns a single result, you are directed straight to the relevant page.
